How To Treat Yourself To A Day Spa Experience At Home

The state of things in the world today has people really stressed out. Now, more than ever there is a need to get to a spa and really treat yourself to let all of the stress of the world go.

The problem is that everything is closed and most spas are not able to operate at the moment. Does this mean you just have to put up with the stress and deal with it? No, it just means that you have to take some special measures to really spoil yourself like you would at a day spa.

Your bedroom, bathroom and really any space you can find in your home can be converted into your own personal spa that you can enjoy no matter what is happening in the outside world.

In this article, I will give you some tips on creating a perfect day spa experience without leaving home.

Create the mood

The first thing to do is to find the space that you can take over to create your home spa, even if just for a few hours. Then once you zero in on the space, it’s time to set it up like it is a spa.

Think about what it is like when you go to a day spa. The first thing once you get past the check in desk is the music. It is something calm and soothing. Sometimes it’s some ambient electronic music or other times it could be some Eastern sounds. Whatever your preference, it should be something calming that will help you get into a relaxed mode.

Then, put some candles around. This is the part that actually makes it better to have your spa at home as you are in control. If you like scented candles then you can choose whichever large jar candles that you prefer without worrying about if anybody else is going to be offended by the scent.

Then, the last thing to do is set up some natural features like some plants and maybe even stone structures. Most spas have some kind of natural elements that help you feel relaxed.

Level up your bath

To start things out right, you should begin with a long soak in the tub. Not just any soak, however. You need to make sure that your bath is far from ordinary.

Hopefully, you’ve already gotten the room set up well. This will create your relaxing atmosphere so it doesn’t just feel like you are taking a regular bath.

The point here is to properly relax the muscles so you can melt the stress away. This can mean adding some essential oils to your bath or even some mineral salts. Essential oils are a great choice as the scent can also set your mind to relax. Oils such as lavender, chamomile and any citrus are great to get you in the right mode to relax.

Epsom salts are also a great way to help those muscles loosen and relax. Your tension is stored in the muscles, so the combination of the warm water and the mineral salts will help the stress melt away.

Give yourself a facial

One of the best benefits to having a day at the spa is how rejuvenated your face looks and feels afterward. This is not only from how relaxed you feel but also because you usually get a facial.

You can do it yourself and enjoy the benefits to your skin with a relatively simple procedure.

Start out with a good exfoliation. Make sure you have washed your face while you were in the bath and then use an organic exfoliator scrub to remove those dead layers of skin from your face. You will expose your fresh skin from underneath that will more readily absorb the next phase. This is the face mask that you will want to put on.

Look for masks made from mineral muds that will nourish your skin and repair the damaged cells. A charcoal based mask is ideal as the charcoal will absorb any impurities in the skin and leave it feeling fresh and glowing.

Massage time

Hopefully you are doing a spa day for two and have somebody to help give you a massage. This is the perfect way to end the day with a gentle rub down and release all of the toxins built up in your muscles. Once again, essential oils will help you get the most out of the experience.
