Even with spring in full effect, some of us have not found the time yet to get our yards in order. Well, now is the right time. If you delay it any longer, you might not have your yard ready to enjoy the summer weather and you most certainly will not have your yard ready for the spring weather. But it is definitely not too late to start right now. Of course, you will have to have a good plan so that there is no time wasted on some common “unforeseen” issues. We’ve prepared a small and simple outline that might help you create a plan for reworking your outdoor areas and building up with a nice yard that will make you want to spend more time outside.
It might be quite obvious, but the very first step that you need to do is clean out your yard. Remove all of the things that are not needed, are getting old and need replacing as well as things that are simply there because you didn’t know what to do with them. You should end up with a clean slate which will make it a lot easier for you to decide the layout that you’re going to be using for your new yard.
The next step is to get the plot ready for the lawn, of course, if you’re going to have lawn. You will need to survey the ground for any spots where trouble can arise and take care of it before it ruins your new lawn. This includes areas where heavy traffic is expected i.e kids and pets running around, playing ball. After that, you’re good to go and of course, water and mow often.
No yard is a good yard without its fair share of trees, plants and shrubs. It is what makes the yard feel alive and makes you nice and comfortable. But it is no easy task getting it to that state. First you might need to place a few Yard Couture custom planters to ensure you will make best use of the layout that you have to work with. Custom planters are also going to let you choose the type of finish that works best with your home’s exterior design.
If space allows it, you should also plant a few small trees and shrubs that will give some volume to your yard.
And last but most certainly not least, you need to set up the patio. Assuming you’ve left some space for it in the initial design phase, the patio is going to complete your yard and give you some space to enjoy. A good patio should enable you to relax, party and dine with your family, but of course, the patio is very dependent on the amount of space that you have to work with.
