Throughout this week, both the LACMA Art + Film Gala and the 2022 CFDA Awards have grabbed headlines, covers and publications from all the fashion news outlets. We have not let you miss any of the looks that the red carpets of these two events have left us, however, we do not want to stop there, far from it.
After a meticulous daily compilation of news, we have managed to create that kind of fashion “newsletter” that interests us so much week after week and that, of course, we want to share with our readers.
From collaborations, events, covers or parades, we review the news and events that have marked the world of fashion (and celebrities) during the last week.
On November 4, the firm presented a replica of the 2022/2023 cruise collection show, which took place on May 5 in the city of Monte Carlo. On this occasion, the chosen location was the city of Miami, specifically facing the sea at the Faena hotel, bringing together the sophisticated and cosmopolitan environments of Monaco and Miami.
As stated by the Maison, the Monegasque red of the Monte Carlo beach is combined with that of the hotel, where the bicolour parasols and sun loungers contribute to this sun-drenched bond. Among the guests were names like Lily-Rose Deep, Marion Cotillard and Pharrell Williams who were lucky enough to witness a collection that masterfully combines the firm’s French chic style with that of motorsports.
Last weekend the 40 awards ceremony took place, the most important music awards in our country. The best-known faces of the Spanish music scene passed through the red carpet of this event, obviously also leaving many looks to comment on. From Aitana to Rosalía, who chose a dress from Acne Studios, the firm of which she is the image, through VIP guests such as Pedro Almodovar.
Among the winners, we can highlight, of course, our Rosalía, who won the Best Album award for “Motomami” and the Eurovisual Chanel, who won the artist award from 40 to 1 for her “SloMo”. Internationally, Ava Max received the award for Best International Artist and David Guetta for Best Dance Producer.
After starring in the brand’s show at the last Paris Fashion Week, the firm has signed the singer as the image of the new Balmain campaign. In the spot, Cher appears as a true intergalactic goddess, with the same catsuit that she wore on the SS23 catwalk, to introduce us to “The Balmain Blaze”, the new bag model from the firm directed by the young Oliver Rousteing.
Rising from a kind of somewhat surreal throne and holding the latest Balmain model, the goddess of pop says: “We all invent ourselves, some of us have more imagination than others.” In this way, Cher becomes the perfect face and icon to show the world this new creation by Balmain that combines elegance and punk style to, in turn, honour the firm’s mythical leather jacket.
