This means that you should set aside two to three days, for the job to be completed. Although, you can obviously do other things in the several hours it takes for the paint to dry.
Make sure the path is clean and safe
An untidy path is not a welcoming sight. Even worse, it could be dangerous. Do not leave gardening tools out after you use, and make sure that your kids put their bikes away instead of leaving them laying around. Repair any cracks straight away. They do not just look bad, people can trip over them.
Cut back bushes and shrubs
No-one wants to have to push their way through a ton of branches to get to the front door of your home. Prune bushes and shrubs carefully, so that they remain healthy but do not obstruct the path to your property.
Include a personal touch
It helps to include a personal touch when you are sprucing up the entrance of your home. It’s the one thing that makes the entrance to your property different to all the others. You may want to create a design with ceramic tiles for your step. You could even create your own mailbox, for a good talking point.
Let there be light
Most of the lighting that is provided for exterior use is low voltage. This does not make it less effective. It just means that it’s safer, and more affordable, to use. You can achieve some beautiful lighting effects by simply designing and placing the lighting yourself. A good set of lights can last for around ten years, if you maintain and clean them regularly, and replace bulbs when required.
Any of these simple steps can help to spruce up the entrance to your home. Remember, when you are painting, or creating new designs or features, you should aim to complement the general décor of your property. You should also make sure that the exterior of your home is not at odds with others in the neighborhood. It’s fine to add a personal touch but being too ‘out there’ is not a good idea.
